Description
I took this photo in about 1977. The image quality is not great, but it is valuable because because it is unique. Coast Guard pilots rairly flew formation and even more rairly in a tight trail formation that allowed this composition. This HH-52A 'Seaguard' helicopter was out of USCG Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas, flying over the south Texas coast, probably over Padre Island or Mustang Island. The Sikorsky HH-52A was an anphibious single turbine engine helicopter used by the Coast Guard for the primary mission of Search and Rescue, from 1962-1989. Many lives have been saved by USCG crews flying this excellent aircraft.
